About Ruben Marshall Veterinary Physiotherapy
I am a masters-qualified Veterinary Physiotherapist with over a decade of hands-on experience working with horses and dogs. My career began in the racing industry, where I cared for a wide variety of horses and developed a deep understanding of the performance and welfare needs of elite athletes. Alongside this, I have gained extensive experience with dogs through both personal and professional work, including ex-racing greyhounds, agility dogs, and working dogs.
In 2021, I began an Integrated Master’s Degree in Veterinary Physiotherapy, spending four years immersed in clinical practice and research. During this time, I completed two dissertations, both awarded first class, and received the prize for best dissertation in the school. In 2024, I was honoured to be named EPUK Stable Employee of the Year, recognising my commitment to animal care. Today, I continue to combine my practical experience with scientific research, with a particular passion for advancing evidence-based physiotherapy to improve performance, recovery and overall wellbeing in both horses and dogs.

My Approach
My philosophy is simple: every animal deserves to move comfortably, recover well, and perform at their best. I combine evidence-based techniques with a tailored, individual approach to meet each animal’s needs. Whether I’m helping a dog return to fitness after surgery or supporting a competition horse through a demanding season, my goal is always the same - long-term wellbeing and performance.
Outside of Work
When I’m not working with horses and dogs, you’ll usually find me outdoors, enjoying time with my own dog Margo or at a point-to-point. I also enjoy expanding my knowledge through further research. This balance helps me stay grounded and continually motivated to deliver the best possible care.
